Our Cattle
Ryun Livestock owns and manages a quality commercial Angus herd. We prioritize herd health and hardiness. This results in a herd able to not only survive, but thrive, in the sometimes less than desirable conditions the North Dakota prairie presents.
Our herd is built upon a foundation of strong maternal females. Our females are of moderate size that maintain body condition on a forage based diet while raising a calf and breeding back for the following year. We combine our female genetics with quality Angus bulls to ensure low birth weight in our calves and strong growth rates from calving through adulthood whether headed to market or being retained for breeding.

Each year we calve in April and May. This helps to ensure our pairs avoid most bad spring weather while still being ready to turn out on fresh pastures. The calves are raised out on pasture all summer to support their natural health and growth. Come November calves return home to be weaned. Some heifers are retained as future breeding stock, the rest head to market.
